Found Charles Windows through Diamond Certified businesses. From the sales meeting to the finished product (7 windows and one patio door) the service, attention to detail, and follow-up was great. Contract(s) and installation documentation were accurate, detailed, yet clearly understandable (i.e. common English). Will use them for our next project (2 big front room windows).

I had Charles Windows replace all my windows and a sliding door in the past three years. Because of my budget, the work was completed in two phases. The last time, I needed to replace a window damaged by a burglary. My experience with their installation crew and sales associate was more than satisfactory.
- They were effective when getting the city permit and professional when explaining how the installation of the different windows and inspection would be.
- Three installation crew worked in my house. They were very careful, considerate with my newly painted walls, and clean (this part, just outstanding). The process was done smoothly and completed before the tentative schedule. The city inspector didn’t find anything wrong.
- Pricewise, they were fair. I had 5 other bids, but Charles Windows provides warranty of the installations for the lifetime of my home ownership.
- With the damage caused by the burglary, the staff was very accommodating and considerate, prompt in finding a handyman to board up the broken glass and fast in getting a new frame. It was a relief to count on their services during that emergency to which I am very grateful!
- Communication was never a problem. Like the other review, I felt a valuable customer.
I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

The initial estimate was done by a new guy and he gave me an estimate that was way more than I expected. After thinking about going with another company, I got a hold of Pam at Charles Windows and she helped me out and gave me a great deal on 29 Milgard windows. Pam was great in coming to my place and returning the estimate within days. Unfortunately, the installation was split into 2 phases because the fiberglass windows manufacturing was delayed. All installation was done professionally except one window that came out slightly crooked. I was very happy with the installation except the crooked one. The entire project took a little longer than expected (not all their fault), but would use them again and recommend them to my friends. thx Charles Windows.

We used Charles Windows to replace two doors/sliding doors in our home. They were very professional and the appointment was set up for installation on the date expected. The installers were polite, professional and courteous, and everything was cleaned up nicely after the job. We are very happy with our doors and we would certainly recommend them for future jobs. They also followed up with a phone call to make sure all was in order.

I just had a fantastic experience, start to finish. The sales woman was highly consultative. I received far more information and guidance from her than the two other companies I received bids from.
The communication was great throughout the process – from bid, to scheduling, to getting the job done.
The team of installers were prompt, polite, and pleasant. They kept my house tidy during the process, cleaning up at the end of each day. (It took all week, as I was replacing all windows and doors). They even worked in a sudden downpour of rain one day, just to get the big window in (so I wouldn’t be stranded with a gaping hole). The office called to reconfirm each time the staggered payments were being charged to my card. They even sent a lovely thank you letter at the end.
I’ve already referred a friend to them. I am very confused by the negative comments here as I received no hint of any of these problems. Makes me wonder if competitors are posting bogus reviews. Who knows…

I had to get new windows at my mom’s place so I called a few places. After meeting with the people at Charles Windows I knew they were the ones to deal with. They understood when I said quality but not the crazy best and didn’t try and rip me off though I couldn’t be there to supervise. My mom told me that they were all super nice and even helped her with a few things around her house that where totally unrelated to windows… that made me feel good about them. Mom is happy and I was happy with the price. When you can trust people with your mom you know their good.

Such a pleasure working with Charles Window & Door Company.
To say that the owners and support staff are knowledgeable is an understatement. They’re experts with answers, exact quotes and timelines that are fulfilled.
The breadth of the work at my house included the replacement of every window and door in the cottage. Sliding doors were expanded. Windows were expanded. Nine doors including a custom, beveled glass door were installed. And along the way, substandard work done by previous workers was discovered and corrected by Charles onsite staff.
Based on the success of those projects, I opted to hire Charles to replace the siding on my house. I’d heard of the quality of their work. The rumors are true. They are every bit as good. They have specialists who install and seal windows and doors. They have other specialists who know exterior siding backwards and forwards. They are fast but never sacrificed the quality of work nor the attention to so many details and nuances.
Yes, I’d highly recommend that you investigate Charles Window & Door Company before you make any decisions regarding window/door replacement as well as siding installation. I did recently recommend Charles to some close friends who needed work done on their windows. They, too, are thrilled with the work done by Charles.

I had a very positive experience with Charles Windows and Doors when they recently replaced all the windows and sliding glass doors at my home. The salesman was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I took several weeks to make a decision and he responded promptly to all my calls and addressed all my questions and concerns. The person who measured the windows was also a pleasure to work with and arranged an appointment at my convenience. They were able to schedule the installation sooner than I expected, and were very responsive to my needs concerning installation scheduling. The installers did an excellent job, arrived on time, took obvious pride in their work, and did a great job cleaning up. I am very pleased with my new windows and definitely recommend Charles Windows and Doors!

No hard sell, the rep showed us a variety of windows and doors. They don’t push one brand over another which is nice. We replaced five sliding glass doors and two windows. Two of the doors are ten feet across and again we were given several options. The installation was the best. Two guys who are total pros did the entire installation in three days, every day they cleaned up so that you would hardly know there was work being done. It’s been about a month since the installation and everything is working perfectly, no leaks and much improved energy efficient windows. I recommend them highly.

I recently needed to replace several windows and a couple of doors. I called around quite a bit… surfed the internet looking for the best deal I could. After realizing it would be best to deal locally Charles Window and door became my only choice. They were very prompt in returning calls and after the sales person left my house I knew they would be the people I used. The install guys where clean and courteous and did not damage the surrounding sheetrock or make a mess in my house. I am currently finishing plans to build a new house and will use these guys for sure!!! I suggest you do too.

I hired the company to replace all 14 windows and 2 outside doors. The work was done in record time. The 2 workers were very professional and dog-friendly. The back-door was problematic but they did a superb job and cleaned up every day. From getting the estimate to the finished job, all went very smoothly. I definitely would recommend them.

After decades of searching, comparing & bugging my friends, I decided to get my first free estimate with Charles Window & Door Co.
After Pamela arrived on time, showed me a few samples plus gave me a quote on the spot, I was sold.
In May 2010 Chris and Sean installed 14 windows in record time. No hanging on cell phones, no wasting time; old-fashioned young workers which is a rarity nowadays. Their workmanship is exemplary and they cleaned up every day. We are very impressed and are looking forward to having them install our doors.

We chose Charles Window & Door Company to replace our old windows and sliding glass doors because of several reasons. First, they had one year free financing. Second, they offered 50% off each window and third, I checked them at the BBB and they hadn’t had a complaint in 36 years. We were under a time crunch to get them installed during the summer and from the estimate to completion was a little over a month. Not bad considering each window/door is custom made. We have two dogs that needed to be kenneled during the installation and they were very understanding when it came to the scheduling. When I asked to start a little later in the day so I could bring the dogs to the vet first, they were happy to comply. The guys doing the installation were great and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. They even left our patio cleaner than they found it, they hosed off our patio furniture. We had a very positive experience with Charles Window and Door Company.

I used this company twice recently in San Rafael to install double pane windows in an older home. Needless to say, I wouldn’t have hired them the second time had I not been completely satisfied. They were prompt, friendly, professional, and I had no problems with either set of windows. Sadly, I moved soon after and can’t yet afford to have them come out and replace all the old windows in my present home, but plan to soon. I feel very comfortable recommending them to anyone who needs this type of work.

I have hired Charles Window & Doors a couple of times for windows and a special order front door at my house and rental unit. I have an older home 1905 vintage Victorian so it’s been important to keep the visual integrity and update the home for comfort and quality. I recently hired Charles Window and Door Co. to install new windows and replace the old siding in the back of my house with James Hardie Siding. It was a great pleasure dealing with everyone involved in the project from beginning to end. The owner, the crew, as well as the people working in the office were friendly, professional, and always willing to help me with any questions I had.
The work started and finished in a timely fashion (actually ahead of schedule), but most importantly, the crew did a great, high quality work.
