Efficiency

New windows installed by CHARLES Window & Door Company increase the efficiency of your home or business in several ways:

High performance glazing: High-R glazing options such as triple glazing, Low-e (low emissivity) coatings and argon gas-fill.
Low infiltration rates: Higher levels of performance (DP ratings) translate into low air infiltration rates.
Solar heat gain: Options available that can maximize or reduce solar heat gain, especially when used in conjunction with overhangs and other design strategies.
Electric operators: Remote electric operation of casement and awning windows can be triggered by sensor inputs from a Building Automation System and/or the HVAC system.

LEED

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

LEED is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

We work with recycling groups across the region such as the Marin Resource Recovery Center, because we care about the environment!
